Free books and kitties!

(Well, the kitties aren't free, or mine to give away, lol.)

This has been a busy and long week so far, and it's only Wednesday!  I normally work two days, have a day off, work three days, have a day off.  But today was the first day of school for my coworker Dee's boys, and she wanted to be there with them.  So we traded today for Saturday.  Not too bad of a deal for me, even though I have to work 5 days in a row!  :)  Dave and I will actually get to go to the Farmer's Market on Saturday.  I'm excited.  In other busy-ness for the week...tutoring has started up again, and we have to go to Omaha on Sunday for my 2-year-old second cousin's birthday party.

I've been thinking lately about purging some of my book collection.  I'm a natural packrat, and I love the feel of a home filled with books, but I know I own several I won't get around to reading any time soon.  My grandma is a big book lady (gee, maybe that's where I got it?), and her house has always been filled—FILLED—with books.  Like, you can't see the floor...or tables...or even bookcases...because towers and towers of books cover every inch of my grandparents' house.  They've been working on cleaning out their house recently, with help from my dad and his two sisters.  So far, about half of their garage is filled with boxes of books.  I know I have a long time until I reach that point, but I don't want my future house to look like my grandparents'.

SO!

Who wants some free books?

I'm going to start with my ARC (advance reading copy) collection.  Since I can't sell them, I'm going to give them away.  That's right...for FREE!  Everyone likes free books, right?  The only thing I ask is that if you want a book, you make a donation to Dave's laptop fund.  That will help balance out the shipping costs, since we will mail the book(s) to you.  An actual list of books I'll be giving away will be posted soon; I wanted to put the offer out first to see what everyone thinks, to see if anyone will actually take me up on this.  I hope so, so let me know!

My friend Faith graduated from UNL last weekend (congrats!).  Her family gave her a kitten for a present!  Her name is Lucy.  Faith's other cat is named Alice...aren't those adorable names for adorable kittehs?  :)  Dave fell instantly in love with Lucy.  At Faith's graduation party, the kitten fell asleep in Dave's lap for over an hour.  He wanted me to sneak her home in my purse, hehe.  Last night, Dave had a kitten craving, so he texted Faith and basically invited us over to her house, lol.  Can anyone resist pictures of kitties?  I think not!

The gray cat is Lucy, and the orange cat is Alice.  I can't wait until we can have pets!

Well, back to watching the Olympics and reading my book—The Valley of Horses, by Jean M. Auel.  I'm really liking this series!

A plus, mes amis.

Arghhh! I didn't realize there was more to your post after, "Who wants some free books?" I know, I forgot all about the kitties. But in my defense, giving away books is pretty exciting (for us)!
